The store newsletter: September 2021

Back to school, return of the classics

As always, September rhymes with back to school. The return of our favorite championships, the return of the French team too, but above all the return of some of our historical prints which are out of stock in certain sizes, and which we are therefore opening in larger sizes. There is notably a shot of King Pelé, Pavard's bastard strike and Messi taking a corner for Barça. Novelty section: we will take you on a journey to Manchester with a unique photo of David Beckham wearing the legendary number 7 of the Red Devils. Enough to start off on the right foot after enjoying (clouds) of the summer sun. All these photos - as well as a new Maradona t-shirt - can be found now on our boutique.so

Photos

We start with a photo of the inevitable Argentine number 10, Lionel Messi. There could be doubt with another of his late legendary compatriots but it is the Pulga who is in the spotlight this month. Despite his resounding change of club, Messi will remain a Barça player in the collective memory. In this photo from 2010, the neo-Parisian is heading towards his 4th Spanish championship title by winning 4-0 against Valladolid. Technical leader of a Barça which will finish on 99 points, one more than its rival Real Madrid, Lionel Messi was already starting to write his legend with the Blaugrana club. The photo is available again, with the medium and large sizes opening.
Football in its purest form. In its natural state. This is exactly what emerges from this photo of a small football stadium which is located in the oldest public park in the city of Moscow, open since 1756. This photo is a leap in time, which will satisfy the football enthusiasts as well as lovers of beautiful photographs.
Now let's move on to a shot as legendary as the player on it. This print presents King Pelé carried in triumph after Brazil's 3rd victory at the 1970 World Cup, a 4-1 victory against Italy. During this match, played in a packed Estadio Azteca, Pelé opened the scoring. The Italians created an illusion for an hour of play before giving in to the Seleção's attacks. It was also the last World Cup won by Edson Arantes Do Nascimento, who remains to this day the one and only player in the history of football who can boast of having won 3 World Cups.
June 30, 2018, 57th minute of play. Back cross from Lucas Hernandez. A ball that seems to elude everyone, or almost everyone. This is the moment that Benjamin Pavard chooses to score an anthology goal which allows the Blues to return to 2-2 in this 8th final of the World Cup with multiple twists and turns. The French team finally won 4-3 and won the second World Cup in its history 15 days later. The most famous half-volley in French football taken at the best moment, that is the simple promise of this shot (which we open just for you in medium format).
To end this back-to-school selection in style, what could be better than an emblematic United number 7? Not the last one, the one you think, but Mr Spice Girl, David Beckham, at the corner post in an image of rare elegance. This photo was taken during the Champions League match between the Girondins and Sir Alex Ferguson's United at Parc Lescure (final score: 1-2). Yes yes, Bordeaux in C1… It was in the year of our Lord 2000.
The T-shirt

In the textile department, we're getting back to our good old habits with a new monthly visual. This month, it's the Pibe de Oro holding, like a sea lion, a world map on his skull. The shooting took place in 1984, in the middle of the Camp Nou pitch.
All these football prints will be available on boutique.so from September 1st at midnight.
