La Newsletter So Foot De Mai 2024

We've selected our best football photographs for you!

(Okay, fine, we're leaving...)

While the world takes well-deserved breaks this May, why not add a touch of fun to your day with our brand new photo collection? Because between barbecues and naps, there's always room for a bit of sport and art on your walls, to liven up that beautiful living space!

The first photo is the one you choose each month via the vote in our Instagram story. @sofoot . This month, we pay tribute to a legendary stadium: the "San Siro" !

As for the rest, the journalists in the editorial office agreed on Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic pose before his free kicks, and the very aesthetic throw of a flare in Mönchengladbach and Manchester United legend "Bobby Charlton" at the corner flag.

We're not changing any good habits, all these beautiful photos are available in a very limited edition, 11 copies per size.

The photos:

Certainly One of the most iconic poses in this sport , achieved by one of the greatest footballers in history. Cristiano Ronaldo . An exceptional free-kick taker, he has, like any player, his own technique to be focused when it's time to shoot. Three steps back, one to the left, legs spread, a deep breath, and... Ronaldo is ready to take his free kick. This one, He didn't play against Hungary in the group stage of Euro 2016 (3-3) , but it's not certain that this impacted him given the rest of the competition. Damn butterfly.

There's a dream shared by all football fans: to tour all the iconic stadiums in Europe. And it's safe to say that the San Siro is at the very top of that list . Standing since 1925 , this stadium has seen its fair share of history. It's not for nothing that it's called "the temple of football." Even the unflappable Sir Alex Ferguson was impressed. He declared in 2010 during the Champions League round of 16 second leg: " I was in shock for the first 15 minutes because the atmosphere was incredible. I don't think I'd ever seen anything like it before. The noise the Milan fans made when they scored (Ronnie's goal in the 3rd minute) made me nervous, and it stressed my players out too. "

Sir Bobby Charlton left an indelible mark on Manchester United. His journey, from surviving the Munich air disaster to becoming one of the greatest players in football history, is both inspiring and deeply moving. He played as if every match was for his fallen friends . His devotion to Manchester United, on and off the pitch, was remarkable. He spent 17 years honoring that red shirt . Charlton's impact on the game extended far beyond his playing career. His accolades, including the renaming of the South Stand at Old Trafford in his honor, are a testament to the immense respect and admiration he inspired throughout his life. This certainly warranted a stunning black and white photograph taken during a match against West Ham in 1971.

We all know Dortmund's Yellow Wall and Bayern's Die Roten; today we're talking about Mönchengladbach's supporters . During the match against Hamburg in 1971, Borussia Mönchengladbach crushed their opponents 3-0. Unsurprisingly, the stadium erupted, with fans proudly chanting their joy at supporting their beloved club. In the heat of the moment, a flare was thrown onto the pitch, right next to the referee! Fortunately, no one was injured, and the photographer perfectly captured the moment, offering posterity a magnificent image with the striking contrast of black and white that highlights the flare in the middle of the stadium.

Our second scarf is more, shall we say, whimsical, inspired by the famous anime "Olive and Tom" and their iconic ball, placed in the center of the scarf. This will perfectly complement your fluorescent substitute's bib on the bench during your Sunday district football match in 3-degree weather!
