June gallery: football feast

Fed up with this awful May weather? Unfortunately, not much seems to be changing in June... No worries, we're here to brighten up your home with our brand new limited edition football photography collection.

The first photo is the one you choose each month via the vote in our Instagram story.  @sofoot . This month, we pay tribute to those who allow us to enjoy football safely!
For the rest, the journalists in the editorial office agreed on the photo of the French team during the 2018 final, that of the golden generation of Euro 2000 and, finally, a classic, the unwavering joy of children playing with a ball.

We're not changing our good habits; all these beautiful photos are available in Very limited edition, only 11 copies per size.

This black and white photograph captures a historic moment in the Premier League, when every match was a spectacle of fervor and commitment. The police officer's watchful demeanor contrasts with the unbridled joy of the fans, essential to ensure that the atmosphere in the stands doesn't interfere with the smooth running of the game.

What can be said about this team that thrilled us all? On July 15, 2018 , our French team had to win the final against Croatia to secure that coveted second star . Didier Deschamps fielded his strongest lineup: Hugo Lloris, Raphaël Varane, Samuel Umtiti, Lucas Hernandez, Benjamin Pavard, N'Golo Kanté, Blaise Matuidi, Paul Pogba, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappé, and Olivier Giroud . A team that had eliminated Argentina in the Round of 16 (4-3), silenced Uruguay in the quarterfinals (2-0), and defeated Belgium in the semifinals (1-0). Only one final step remained to reach the ultimate prize. We know what happened next: a resounding victory (4-2) against a Croatian team powerless against our French players, who were playing their best football.

There are times when football teaches life lessons. And that famous France-Italy match on the evening of July 2, 2000 , was one of them. The Italians learned that day that nothing in life is ever guaranteed. And incidentally, that champagne bottles can be recorked. France were trailing 1-0 to Italy, with less than a minute of added time remaining. The Italians were already celebrating on the bench, and no one believed they could pull off a comeback… But this team, surely one of the strongest the French national team has ever fielded, with a starting eleven comprised of Fabien Barthez, Bixente Lizarazu, Marcel Desailly, Laurent Blanc, Didier Deschamps, Patrick Vieira, Lilian Thuram, Thierry Henry, Zinedine Zidane, Youri Djorkaeff, and Christophe Dugarry , would pull off a stunning comeback in the 94th minute thanks to a clinical strike from substitute Sylvain Wiltord . Trezeguet then scored the golden goal , securing France's second European Championship title and putting the Italians in their place in the best possible way.

We are also pleased to present a brand new piece of clothing from our On Tour collection. This one celebrates Bastia's splendid European campaign during the 1977/1978 season , which saw them reach the UEFA Cup final against PSV Eindhoven. Along the way, the Corsicans notably defeated Sporting, Newcastle, and Torino. The two-legged final was almost entirely one-sided in favor of the Dutch side, with Sporting Bastia unable to find a way through.
